Linda J. Benally, President-Elect
Linda serves as in-house counsel at Pinnacle West Capital Corporation at its corporate headquarters in Phoenix, Arizona. She focuses her practice in electric utility regulation and advises clients on regulatory proceedings before the Arizona Corporation Commission on electric energy issues including, transmission line siting and rulemaking matters. Before joining Pinnacle West Capital Corporation in 2003, Ms. Benally held management and human resource positions at Arizona Public Service Company.
Linda, a citizen of the Dinè Nation, has served the legal profession and the community in various volunteer leadership roles. She has served on the State Bar of Arizona Selection Committee for the Bar Leadership Institute and the State Bar’s Diversity Task Force. She is a founding member and a current member on the Board of Directors of the Native American Bar Association of Arizona.
Linda serves with co-counsels to provide pro bono legal services to help shape and/or reform the laws and regulations that will help assure the religious rights of Native Americans. As a volunteer, Linda serves as the Past-President of the Board of the Directors of the Phoenix Indian Center, Inc. She has also served in many capacities advocating for the Valley of the Sun’s American Indian community, such as a consultant to the Arizona Commission of Indian Affairs, and a past member on the American Diabetes Association Valley of the Sun Leadership Council.
