Sara Dutschke Setshwaelo is a member of Dentons’ Public Law practice, focusing on Native American Law and Policy. She has experience working on a myriad of issues involving tribal sovereignty, governance, government to-government relations and economic development. She assists tribal clients with the federal land acquisition process (a.k.a. fee-to-trust), including gaming and non-gaming acquisitions. She drafts and reviews tribal governing documents and intergovernmental agreements. She has also represented tribal clients in Indian Child Welfare Act matters. Sara is a member of the firm’s tribal litigation practice team. Sara is a member of the Ione Band of Miwok Indians.
